Oyster Ecosystem Services

In conjunction with Dr. Jen Shaffer at the University of Maryland and with funding from the N.Y. Sea Grant, we are starting a new project looking at oyster ecosystem services in Long Island (N.Y.).  The goal of this project will be to see how various stakeholders conceptualize oyster ecosystem services, and to find areas of shared values and visions for a healthy, sustainable, and resilient Long Island Sound. Our ultimate goal will be to produce more efficient, just, and effective conservation measures for this region. We are recruiting a student for this project and anticipate starting research in the Spring of 2022.
