Marine Conservation

We have a variety of projects that look at marine conservation through multiple lenses.  We have explored whether marine megafauna ecotourism can support conservation, how shark diving can influence fish communities in Fiji, and how museum collections can improve diversity and conservation. We are currently working on projects looking at whale sharks in the Atlantic, oysters in Rhode Island and mangroves in Fiji. Students in the lab are working with Fijian collaborators to map species distributions for key marine species and ecosystems under a variety of climate change scenarios.
